GOLD SMOKE (7) improved sharply on his fifth two starts back at Hawthorne (Dirt) with success over 1m1/2f at this track (Dirt) two weeks ago, getting home by one length after being prominent at the bend. Worth noting Reynier Arrieta goes aboard. Well placed and there is no reason he cannot repeat the dose. MIDNITE ALEX (5) lifted strongly to score by half a length two runs back at this track (Dirt) then finished sixth over 6f in stakes class at Hawthorne (Dirt) last time in tougher grade. Record here is impressive with three wins from nine starts. Right in this. Set Weights ISS GUARD (1) proved too strong last start and scored by 12 lengths over 1m at this track (Dirt). Has a good record at this track with two wins and four minor placings. Has good early speed so should take up a forward position. One of the main contenders. D DAY REUNION (4) hit the frame with a 7 length second on turf at Horseshoe Indianapolis two starts back. Disappointed last time though, again on the turf, at Hawthorne over 1m1/2f when 9 lengths from the winner in fifth. Has a win and two minor placings at this journey from four starts and should be in the finish.
