MAUNARENTE (10) is usually thereabouts but finds it hard to win, with only one victory from 18 starts. Again tasted defeat last start when fourth over 1m2f at Casterton, beaten 5 lengths. Likely contender with strong prospects. RIPPA BUDDY (6) has been in good form, scoring three back at Horsham then placing twice in a row, most recently finishing third over 1m2f at Casterton. Best figures measure up. Sure to run well. FROM THE BASEMENT (2) recorded his first win last start over 1m2f at Stawell, getting home by a long neck. Tougher task this time but expected to be competitive again. MOORAK MISS (12) is close to breaking through, last start finishing just a neck away in second over 1m2 1/4f at Mt Gambier. Well placed and there is no reason she cannot find winning ways.
