CELESTIAL ZARA (10) is back from a lay-off of five-and-a-half months. Closed last prep with a second, beaten 2. 5 lengths, over 6½f at Sandown-Hillside. Looks ready to run a big race following two recent trials. Will be hard to beat. POWERBOUND (1) scored two runs back then was well in commission last time but could only manage to finish sixth over 6½f at Bendigo. Won't find this as tough so he is one of the main contenders. Set Weights EATBAND (11) was an effortless maiden winner last time out over 6f at Ballarat Synthetic, scoring by 2. 2. 5 lengths. John Allen was in the saddle on that occasion and retains the ride. This is tougher but he cannot be underestimated. STELLAR MOFEED (12) has been out of the winner's list for a long time, last start finishing fifth at Cranbourne over 6f after being prominent until the final stages. Well placed and can play a prominent role.
