DEMIQUAVER (12) was doing her best work late last start to get up for third over 6½f at Bendigo. Blinkers added so the stable might have her peaking. PEARL TROUT (7) wasn't far away on debut last start over 6f at Wagga Riverside, finishing second and beaten a neck. Expected to feature with improvement to come. AZEOLA (15) missed the placings two runs back then didn't do any better last start when 3.5 lengths away in eighth over 7f at Wangaratta. No surprise to see her in contention.
