PIERATA'S GEM (7) has been thereabouts without winning, the latest finishing a 2 length sixth at Gold Coast over 6½f. Facing a tougher assignment but can measure up. LAST COMMAND (3) kept coming only to just miss as favourite last start over 6¾f at Doomben. Should be near his peak for this. Ready to go one better. CARRAVILLA (6) made it back-to-back wins when successful last start over 6¾f at Doomben, getting home by a nose. Looks well placed so expect another big run. KADALL (2) was out of the placings last time over 7f at this track but is a stronger performer at the third run back from a lay-off. Fitter and worth another chance.
