Tuned up with a fifth in a recent trial at Gold Coast. Rates on top and is a great chance to open the campaign with a win. SPECIAL ARTIST (2) finished 2.5 lengths from the winner in second on debut last start over 5f at Sunshine Coast. Will benefit from that experience so he shouldn't be a maiden for long. VAREJAO (3) turned in a decent effort last start to finish third over 5f at Sunshine Coast after being prominent at the corner. Must raise the bar but he has the talent to test this line-up. ORCHID VALLEY (14) resumes after six-and-a-half months and looks ready following a Gatton trial win. Harder here but is not to be discounted.
