GUTSY (2) built on a nice third two starts back at Dubbo with a win over 5f at this track two-and-a-half weeks ago, getting home by a nose. Jessica Brookes scored on him last time and retains the ride. Finds a suitable race and can play a major role. SIMPLY BETTER (7) was below her best last time, finishing sixth and beaten 3.5 lengths over 5½f at Quirindi. Best figures measure up nicely. Sure to run well. BRIEF STATEMENT (3) resumed a week-and-a-half ago over 5f at Orange and was only beaten a long neck into fourth after being in contention on the bend. Fitter so a likely improver.
