BALANCE THE BOOKS (3) drifted back then closed strongly to score as favourite on debut over 6f at this track five months ago and has not appeared since. Has since been kept ticking over with a Doomben trial win. Has plenty of upside and should go on with it. MEHRETU (1) made a nice return in a then met with solid backing but disappointed when sixth over 5½f at Gold Coast two-and-a-half weeks ago. One of the chances based on her best recent efforts. EVERY HEART (6) improved last time out, finishing 1. 75 lengths from the winner in second at the end of 7f at Gold Coast. It doesn't get any easier but on her best form she is one of the chief contenders.
