The Ed Bethell trained MICKLEY (3) built on two pleasing efforts last season with a smooth success attempting 7f at Southwell in March. This Soldier's Call gelding looks to be on a workable opening mark and could be a horse to follow on turf this year. SECRET BID (2) beat SKY WARRIOR (4) over this distance at Lingfield earlier in the month where the former may go well with further progress likely although the latter could produce a bold bid courtesy of returning to this venue with a 4lb swing in the weights. MONO RIVER (8) looked as though stepping back up in trip would suit after finishing second at Windsor. Thereabouts adopting first-time cheekpieces.
