MALA (6) finished out of the money two starts back then was beaten 13 lengths when fourth over 1m at Santa Anita three-and-a-half weeks ago. Meeting a deeper field this time but he has the ability to mix it with them. PETESOLDFASHIONED (4) is usually thereabouts but finds it hard to win, with just two wins from 28 starts. Was again denied last start when he found one better over 1m at Santa Anita. Steps up a level but he is good enough to take this out. MONGOLIAN MAX (2) is back from a lay-off of four months. Closed last campaign with a minor placing over 1m at this track (Dirt). Lines up. For the first time for trainer P G Aguirre. Sure to make his presence felt. RESEMBLANCE (5) made progress last time out, finishing 3 lengths from the winner in third over 1m at Los Alamitos. Looks to be in the right race so he should be in contention again.
