SMOKEM EZ (5) improved last start to finish third over 5½f at this track after being in the firing line on the bend. Well placed and there is no reason he cannot find winning ways. KING AND COUNTRY (1) finished out of the money two starts back then was beaten 4.5 lengths when sixth in a 5f contest at this track a week ago. Has the class to figure prominently. SYNTACTIC (7) missed the placings two runs back then improved last start but found a couple better over 1m at this track, beaten 15 lengths after being in contention on the turn. Best figures measure up. Sure to run well. DARK MARCUS (4) was in the money two starts back at Santa Anita but couldn't back it up last time when seventh, beaten 16 lengths, at this track (Dirt) over 1m. Likely improver with top-three prospects.
