PAFITIS (2) resumes from a 12 weeks lay-off and looked close to a win before the break, starting favourite and finishing second at Colac. Expect he has come on over the break. Rates on top and is a great chance to open the campaign with a win. MERIMBULA (1) has switched yards since finishing sixth seven-and-a-half weeks ago over 1m2f at Kilmore. Sure to be primed for this and a bold showing is anticipated. RIVERS OF BABYLON (4) showed good early speed then led into the straight when fresh from a lay-off last start before fighting on to finish second, beaten a long neck, over 5½f at this track. Well-placed and expected to feature again. FORGING AHEAD (3) is returning from a lay-off of three-and-a-half months. Finished fifth at Beaumont (Newcastle) over 5¾f at the first run last prep. Now with a new trainer Chloe Baxter.
