PALEFACE RINGO (6) is back after a break of nine months. Started the last campaign in good style when in the placings over 4f76yards at Toowoomba. Rates highly and should take some beating. BOLD AND SMOOTH (3) went to the lead from the low draw last time out and was still there on straightening, eventually finishing second over 6f at Rockhampton. Will go forward and is expected to be in the finish again. MACHINE HEAD (7) showed early speed from an outside draw last time and led for much of the way before fading to finish fourth, beaten 1.3 lengths, over 5½f at Gatton. Commendable record at this trip with a win and five minor placings and should play a prominent role. CHARMED PASSAGE (5) resumed two weeks ago over 4f65yards at Gatton and was only beaten 1.1 lengths into fourth. Fitter and sure to run well.
