SPANISH JOHN (9) was an impressive 3. 75L winner of a Bellewstown handicap a fortnight ago improving from a seventh on the flat prior. Can double up though is yet to score over this distance. LADY KAI (7) missed by a neck placing second contesting a Tipperary handicap. Failed to complete a Leopardstown handicap the start before that. May go one better. GRANN'S BOY (12) won delivering first flat outing in more than a year scoring by a head attempting a 2m1/2f Thurles handicap. Claimer negates a penalty so will remain competitive. CHOPSTICKS (18) makes for some attraction racing toward bottom of the weights.
