CO CO VAN WINKLE (9) didn't do a bad job when fourth last start after being prominent at the corner over 7f at Pakenham, beaten 2.25 lengths. That followed a win at Benalla the start prior. Looks well placed so expect a better run this time. SNAPPY PIERRO (10) had a bit on her rivals last time out, scoring an impressive 2.75 lengths maiden win over 7f58yards at Kyneton. Looms as one of the hardest to beat again. REAL ALLIANCE (7) has not been sighted since she scored over 1m at Moe on May 15. Solid top-three hope. WAR MACHINE (1) broke his maiden last start over 6f27yards at Kyneton when resuming, scoring by 1.5 lengths. Sparingly raced and has more to offer. Declan Bates was in the saddle on that occasion and retains the ride. Harder this time but still one to consider.
