MENTALIA (8) was below his best last time, finishing 13th and beaten 13 lengths over 6½f at Wangaratta after being in the firing line on the bend. Likely improver with strong prospects. NATIVE LEAF (4) settled well back last time out then found the line strongly to finish 2.75 lengths away in fifth over 6½f at Wangaratta. One to watch for in the closing stages. LUCY LULU (6) crossed from an outside draw last time to stalk the lead before drawing clear to win by a long neck over 7f at Wagga. Expected to feature. WHIRLWIND (3) produced a reasonable effort when third last start over 1m at Wangaratta. That followed a win at Seymour the start prior. Should be thereabouts.
