It was hard not to be impressed with the way CONMAN JOHN (1) galloped on strongly up the hill to record a second win hurdling in a decent course and distance novice event forty nine days ago. The five-year-old son of Malinas looks to have a bright future as a staying hurdler and can handle this step up in standard. THEY CALL ME HUGO (6) ran on well beating a well-regarded performer at Ffos Las during November. Rates a main danger. Stepping up in journey might bring out more from RECKLESS SPENDING (5) who kept on nicely to finish a decent third attempting hurdles at Ascot last time. CARLENRIG (3) cannot be discounted.
