SKIPPERS CANYON (15) was returning from a break last time out and proved too classy, scoring by 0.8 lengths over 7f at Sandown-Hillside. Fitter for that last hitout and is clearly the one they have to beat. FEDERER (12) in the placings last two, finishing second at Flemington last time out but starting to prove costly. Rates well and expected to be right in this. MAKDANE (19) did well to score at Sale two runs ago. Fair effort last time out when prominent at the turn before finishing second over 1m1f at Sandown-Hillside, beaten a nose. Stepping up a level this time but on his best form he is right in contention. NANA'S WISH (7) had been in sparkling form winning two races on end before most recently finished third over 1m1f at Randwick.
