Multiple Group 1 placegetter THE ASTROLOGIST (5) showed little early speed and was always well back last start when ninth, beaten 6 lengths, over this journey in the G1 William Reid Stakes at Moonee Valley. Has started three times at this course and distance and is yet to miss the placings. Finds a nice race and can take this out. Group 1 placegetter GENERAL BEAU (3) finished fourth when resuming two runs back then did a good job last start when he worked home well but found one better over 6f at Yarra Valley, beaten only a nose. Finds an easier assignment and can get the job done. Group 2 winner JIGSAW (1) is fitter for two runs back from a lay-off, progressing nicely last time to finish fifth, beaten 0.8 lengths, at Yarra Valley over 6f. Will find this tougher but should be involved in the finish. REY MAGNERIO (4) closed off strongly last start to get up for third, beaten 0.9 lengths, over 6f at this track. Nice class drop this time. Sure to be thereabouts.
