PIPPIE POMAR (12) faded late last time over 6¾f at Doomben after showing good early speed, eventually finishing fourth. Will go forward and is expected to be in the finish. GRAFTING (1) returns after six months in the paddock. Closed the last campaign with a fifth over 7f at Coffs Harbour. Ran fifth in a recent trial at Grafton. No surprise if he was able to get off the mark. STRENUOUS (8) has been kept fresh since filling a minor placing at this track over 7f six-and-a-half weeks ago. Looks to be ticking over nicely judging by a recent trial win at Gold Coast. Well placed and is expected to feature. BANG ITS ON (3) was out of the money two runs back when fresh from a lay-off then again missed the frame last start over 5f136yards at Grafton, beaten 5. 5 lengths into seventh. Best efforts measure up so worth another chance.
