CHEEKY SMIRK (10) opened this campaign last start with a third, beaten 1. 5 lengths, over 6f at Kembla Grange. Sure to prove tough to beat. HAZEL JEAN (15) ran below expectations last time at Hawkesbury, finishing ninth and beaten 10 lengths starting at 3/1. This is a nice drop in grade so she is one of the main contenders. OLUFSEN (9) was prominent through the early and middle stages but peaked on his run and finished fourth when resuming over 5½f at Wyong last start. Should park just off the speed. Should be involved in the finish. STARBOARD (5) struggling to break through and over a year since a win, last start finishing third over 6¼f at Canterbury. Will find this easier. Solid claims on best form.
