LONG GENES (1) is a four-year-old gelding who is having his first run for the G & A Williams barn. Hasn't raced since finishing 15th in the G3 Rough Habit Plate at Doomben five months ago. Ran fifth in a trial at Lark Hill over 4¾f and looks nicely placed. Key chance who will go close. FIVE DOWN (3) finished 3.5 lengths away in fourth last time out over 6f at Belmont Park after being in the firing line on the corner when when resuming from a lay-off. Tackles a longer journey this time. Drawn to go forward. Will prove tough to beat. KINGS FLIRT (11) finished 2 lengths away in fifth last time out over 6f at Belmont Park after being prominent at the turn two weeks ago. Steps up in distance. Won't find this assignment as tough. Should measure up. DATE WITHTHE DEVIL (6) broke his maiden last start over 7f at Kalgoorlie, scoring by 1.75 lengths. Is lightly raced and has plenty of scope for improvement. Must be respected now that the penny has dropped.
