SHAMATEUR (6) showed good early speed and raced on the pace when when resuming after a lay-off last start before fading to finish sixth, beaten 2.5 lengths, over 6f at Sandown-Lakeside. Will go forward and is expected to be in the finish. BRAZEN DIVA (8) was responsible for a solid effort last time out when third at Ballarat over 5f, beaten a head. Should be at her peak now. Continues to race well without winning, recording four placings from four starts this time in work. Among the leading chances. CENTRAL BANK (1) showed good early muster and fought on to finish second last start over 5f at Werribee. Nicely placed to take this out. EL FORTRESS (3) is back after a break of four months. At the last run before the layoff he finished tenth over 5½f at Werribee. Launched last prep with a minor placing at Echuca over 5f. Ran seventh in a recent trial at Cranbourne. Rates highly on best form and should be in the mix.
