VILLAGE GIRL (6) produced a reasonable effort when fourth last start after being in contention on the corner over 6½f at this track, beaten 1.5 lengths. That followed a win at this track the start prior. Nicely placed to feature in the finish. CENTRE BOND (8) made a strong late bid but just failed to pick up the winner when when resuming as favourite last start over 6f at Bunbury. Should tighten right up following that outing. Meeting a tougher field but on his best form he is one of the chief contenders. LINDEN'S GOLD (2) was a narrow winner by a nose at Bunbury in a then second at this track last time. Drops a little in the weights. Has been in sound form this prep with three wins from seven starts. Should be involved in the finish. AIN'T NO OTHER MAN (1) was in the money two starts back at this track but was unable to repeat the effort last time when sixth, beaten 3.5 lengths, at this track over 5f. Best figures measure up nicely. Solid top-three prospects.
