CLUBMAN (4) impressed when successful as favourite on debut over 7f at Canberra ten months ago and has not appeared since. Has since been kept ticking over with a Muswellbrook trial. Promising type who can go back-to-back. SCOUNDREL (2) missed the frame when resuming last start over 7f65yards at Queanbeyan but wasn't all that far from the winner. Has good early toe so he should be handy in the run. Among the leading chances. LIGHT INFANTRY (3) continued the good recent form when he finished just a nose away in second last time out over 6½f at this track. Racing well without winning and gets his chance to break through. CASANOVA (6) finished midfield when resuming from a break last start over 6f at Newcastle, beaten 6 lengths at a huge quote. Should camp just off the leaders. Must be respected.
