INFLUENTIAL JACK (4) progressed nicely last time out to finish just 1.75 lengths from the winner in third over 6f at this track. Meets a stronger field but he is capable of running a bold race. UPSTART LEGEND (11) is ready to win after another minor placing last start, finishing second after she was well back on straightening over 6½f at Townsville. Finds the right race this time and can get the job done. SPERANZOSO (9) made late ground and finished 1.4 lengths from the winner in fifth last start over 6f at Dubbo, an improvement on his seventh at Scone the run before. Faces an easier assignment so he is sure to be prominent. PREFERRAL (6) finished second last start over 6f at Mt Isa, beaten 0.8 lengths. Will benefit from that outing. Nicely placed to play a role in the finish.
