BRITISH GEM (12) finished fifth when resuming two runs back then improved last start but found one better over 6¾f at Doomben, beaten only 1. 5 lengths. Won't find this as tough so she is ready to find the winners' list. GIAPPONESE (5) returned last time with a solid second at Grafton over 7f. Placed to advantage and can feature in the finish. ELROND (1) progressed nicely last start to finish a close second over 7f at Sunshine Coast after missing the placings at the previous appearance. Looks well placed so expect another big run. STRENUOUS (6) produced another moderate effort last start when 7 lengths from the winner in seventh over 7f at Grafton. Best efforts measure up so worth another chance.
