LAYIN' UP (8) was well supported on debut last start and turned in a strong effort to finish third over 5f at Ballarat. Open to improvement and looks a serious contender. ATTABOOM (2) is a 10-start maiden who has been in the money three times, Could only manage fourth last time out over 5½f at this track. Has a solid record at this track, finishing in the top-three three times. Great chance to break through. ROSA JULIET (10) was close to a maiden win before a four-and-a-half months break, finishing off with a placing over 7f at Benalla. Drawn to enjoy a nice run. Rates highly and is one of the main hopes. DOWN THE WICKET (3) has been racing well including a last start second over 6f155yards at Geelong, beaten 1.5 lengths. Likely to be about the mark again.
