MACSPARK (4) ran well on debut last start to finish second over 5½f at Clare in a tougher race. Promising type with improvement to come so he shouldn't be a maiden for long. TALKIN' ITALIAN (2) had support when resuming last time out and was only 2 lengths from the winner in fourth over 5¼f at Oakbank. Backmarker who keeps coming. Best form puts him right in this. KALBARRI (3) is a maiden galloper resuming. After a lay-off of nine weeks. Closed last campaign with a 11th over 6f at Gawler, beaten 9 lengths. Looks to be in good order after placing in a trial. One of the contenders. ALEXEIN (6) didn't make an impact at her last run before going for a lay-off on January 14 finishing 11th and beaten 10 lengths over 6f at Strathalbyn. Makes plenty of appeal.
