SIYAASI (3) had a bit on his rivals last time with an impressive 4. 5 lengths win over 7f at Gundagai. Is going well this campaign, recording a win and three minor placings from five starts. Leading contender. SEASMOKE (5) is usually thereabouts but finds it hard to win, with only one victory from 15 starts. Was again denied last start when she found one better over 6f at Narrandera. Has the class to figure prominently. XERXES (1) wasn't far away when resuming last start when fifth over 6f at Sapphire Coast. May appreciate the longer journey with that run under the belt. Has never been out of the placings at this stage of the prep. Has a decent record at this trip with four minor placings from five tries and should be involved in the finish. ICONIC ROSE (8) finished third at Wagga two runs back but didn't measure up last time over 6½f at Wagga, finishing 5. 5 lengths back in sixth. Best figures measure up nicely. Solid top-three prospects.
