ALL ASTERN (2) stalked the pace when resuming at this track and trip last start then worked to the line steadily to finish second. Has an impressive strike rate at this distance with two wins from four runs and should prove tough to beat. MAGIC MERV (11) raced below his best last time when 12th over 6½f at Wagga, beaten 8 lengths. Has his share of ability. Hard to beat in this suitable race. GO ELLIE GO (4) turned in a fine effort to win by a long neck at this track and distance when when resuming from a lay-off last start. Nicely placed to feature in the finish again.
