Hukum hotfooting it to Coronation Cup for Owen Burrows

Lambourn handler Owen Burrows has a smart middle-distance performer in Hukum and the Cumberland Lodge winner will be sent to the Epsom Dahlbury Coronation Cup on June 3.

Cumberland Lodge winner Hukum is being revved up by Owen Burrows for the Epsom Dahlbury Coronation Cup on June 3.
The five-year-old was most recently the winner of the Dubai City Of Gold Sponsored By Emirates Skywards during a March stint in the UAE.
The Shadwell Estates owned Hukum then put in a reasonable showing in the lucrative Dubai Sheema Classic, finishing seventh, again at Meydan.
Now, Lambourn trainer Burrows is getting Hukum ready for a return to blighty and a run in the one mile, four furlong Coronation Cup on Oaks day at Epsom.
"The plan is for him to go to the Coronation. Jim (Crowley, jockey) is going to come and ride him on Wednesday morning in his work and if we're all happy, then that's where we'll go," he said.
"We did confirm him for the Hardwicke just in case, but the plan is to go to Epsom."

Burrows also had news of his Gimcrack winning Minzaal who has been entered for the six furlong Platinum Jubilee Stakes at Royal Ascot.

The Mehmas colt was third-placed on seasonal debut in the 1895 Duke of York Stakes at York racecourse.
A 207 days absence didn't seem to bother Minzaal, also owned by Shadwell, who was probably lacking a bit of race fitness and tailing off in a tad in the final furlong.

Plenty of Minzaal's rivals at York had been kept ticking over on the all-weather over winter where Minzaal wasn't so it would be no surprise to see the four-year-old come on for the run on the Knavesmire.

"He's been left in today, we've confirmed him again for the Jubilee so that's the plan now," he said.
"I always felt it (York) was going to be needed, he was a bit rusty at home. We hadn't been able to get him on the grass for four or five weeks but hopefully that's knocked the cobwebs away.
"We've had a nice drop of rain since, so hopefully we can get him working on the grass and get him nice and tuned up."
The Dahlbury Coronation Cup takes place at Epsom racecourse on June 3 and will go to post at 15.10.
