York Dante Festival betting tips: Gaiden and Tierney carry high hopes in day three opener

York racecourse
The final day of York’s Dante Festival gets under way with a competitive fillies’ sprint, and Tipstrr’s pundits have helped narrow down the 10-strong field for us.
13:50 York: Clipper EBF Marygate Fillies' Stakes (5 furlongs)
While the betting market makes Persian Dreamer the short-priced favourite, with Got To Love A Grey not far behind, Richard Hannon's Gaiden is lurking in the wings and looks an interesting prospect under Sean Levey.
A £65,000 yearling out of Mehmas, she made a promising debut in a minor event at Windsor 25 days ago, she just ran out of steam in the closing stages to finish a two-length runner-up, but still left nine other rivals in her wake.
The heavy ground might have had a say in that performance, and this outing on much faster ground should give a better clue as to her longer-term potential.
Suggested bet:
Gaiden each-way in the 13:50 at York
Further down the betting, Tierney has attracted plenty of support within the Tipstrr community, and she will be looking to build on her fourth place on debut at Chester last week.
She was held up in that race, and then struggled to respond late on in the heavy going, so again the improving ground could well bring a better performance.
Oisin Murphy was on board that day and he teams up again today and is obviously well-equipped to get the best out of his ride, while his presence gives her double-digit price extra appeal.
Possible punt:
Tierney each-way in the 13:50 at York
