Officials inspected the track early on Wednesday morning ahead the fixture and had to abandon the card as a last resort.
The venue tweeted: "Sadly, racing is abandoned today due to the drop in temperatures here at Ludlow."
Southwell was also subject to an inspection but the meeting will go ahead as planned after the track passed a morning check.
