Gordon Elliott

There’s a great day’s jumps racing at Navan on Tuesday, February 22 with a pair of Grade 2 events. Gordon Elliott’s Run Wild Fred can go crazy ahead of a run at Cheltenham and the Grand National.

Have a shufty at our Live Race Centre for all the up to date information on a strong day of national hunt action at Navan
You can place a wager with Planet Sport Bet.

Here's a quick reference list of all Planet Sport's picks from Navan on Tuesday, February 22.

Music Of Tara (13.10 Navan)
Lunar Display (13.45 Navan)

Darver Star (14.20 Navan)

Ever So Cool (14.55 Navan)
Townhill Penny (15.30 Navan)

Run Wild Fred (16.05 Navan)

All Class (16.40 Navan)

Madmansgame (17.15 Navan)

There's plenty of Cheltenham and Aintree clues at Navan on Tuesday and here's some more information on Planet Sport's three choice selections.

14.20 Navan - Darver Star

A highly competitive BetVictor Boyne Hurdle as expected and Darver Star's consistency can prove crucial.

Finishing in the top two in all of the races the 10-year-old has completed since November, Gavin Cromwell's Kalanisi gelding chalked up a nice Punchestown win late last year.
That 20 lengths success showed exactly what Darver Star can do and a solid second to Olly Murphy's Brewin'upastorm at Lingfield was creditable. Cheltenham is on the cards and a win here will make this one shine for Prestbury Park in March.

16.05 Navan - Run Wild Fred

The second Grade 2 of the day sees some decent chasers in action in the BetVictor Ten Up Novice Chase.

Run Wild Fred is always there or there abouts and will be looking for a good Cheltenham preparation for Gordon Elliott after being entered in various races, including the Gold Cup itself. He's also entered for the Aintree Grand National, with Elliott saying he has a "touch of class."

Possibly the strongest competition will come from stablemate and fellow Gigginstown runner Farouk D'alene but this is a serious animal for Elliott who should prove too good under Mark Walsh.

17.15 Navan - Madmansgame

It's often been said that picking winners in racing is a mad man's game but Willie Mullins' five-year-old is a confident pick in the Paddy Flood Memorial (Pro/Am) Flat Race.

One of only three runners in the race with a win to their names, Madmansgame won a Boulta maiden fairly simply when handled by Donnchadh Doyle.

Owned by Dr S P Fitzgerald who also has the 161 rated Royal Rendezvous, it would be no surprise to see Madmansgame take this before targeting bigger races.
