Tuesday Newcastle racing tip: Andre Le Notre primed for handicap success

The expert eye of Tipstrr horse racing pundit Richard Hutchinson has fallen on a promising chaser, Andre Le Notre, whose potential just might be fulfilled at this afternoon's meeting at Newcastle.

15:45 (Newcastle) Andre Le Notre

This unexposed six-year-old has run only five times to date, and has looked a proper handicap project after having three quiet hurdle runs where he looked every bit the novice, and only postmarked a high of 79.

On his handicap debut connections sent Andre Le Notre chasing off a basement mark of 70 and it was easy to see why they made that decision.

He looks a nice scopey sort with a good spring and he travelled strongly throughout in midfield before eventually being outpaced in the home straight.

He was given a nice educational ride and could easily have got involved had he not become stuck behind horses just as the leaders kicked for home. Craig Nichol decided not even to attempt to make up the ground, so there is plenty of improvement in him.

Now we know he jumps a fence, and we also know he has running ability, as on his racecourse debut he went off a well-backed favourite in a two-mile National Hunt flat race, finishing second and postmarking 95.

Today he runs off 74, so he looks nicely handicapped, and the soft ground will be ideal based on that NH flat run, and it seems it's just a question of time before he gets a win under his belt.

All things considered, he looks like an appealing play and I would recommend a point each-way at anything around 14/1 or above.
