Charles Hill's Lord Uhtred has an entry for the Group 1 Vincent O'Brien National Stakes at the Curragh in September and he'll have to do well in the British Stallion Studs EBF Novice Stakes to be considered for that.

Yarmouth is a strange track with plenty of no-hopers on display but also the odd useful type sent down the road from Newmarket.

Sharmadal gelding Western Writer looks the latter and should have too much in the Weatherbys Bloodstock Pro Handicap for Godolphin heavyweight Charlie Appleby.

Not out of the top three in any of his last three starts, this one should come on for a first run on turf for the boys in blue.

James Ferguson's Cuban Beat should have plenty in the tank for the Class 5 Supporting Stable Staff Week Handicap.

Representing good owners Qatar Racing, the three-year-old Havan Gold filly was probably expected to contest stronger races.
Cieren Fallon can go one better than the last time out second at Thirsk if nailing the start by the seaside.
