Thirsk each-way racing tip: Muatadel poised to build on improving form

Thirsk racecourse
With most bookies paying out on four places for this 13-runner handicap, Tipstrr’s each-way specialists have gravitated towards a horse that has the potential to outrun his double-digit price.

An impressive win at Nottingham six days ago sees Hey Mr installed as the firm favourite, so it will be interesting to see if he can maintain that form under a five-pound penalty.
Canaria Prince is his closest rival in the market at around 9/2 at the time of writing, and those short prices open the door for some tidy each-way value among the remainder of this competitive field.
Outsider Brunello Breeze has received a smattering of support within the Tipstrr camp, but the main consensus is leaning towards one of the veterans in the line-up, John Wainwright's 10-year-old gelding, Muatadel.

After wintering on all-weather surfaces with mediocre results, Muatadel appeared to benefit from an 89-day break, from which he returned with a much-improved performance on his season debut on the turf at Hamilton three weeks ago.
Although understandably one-paced towards the end of this pipe-opener, he did enough to finish a creditable fourth of 13 behind the highly-rated Hurt You Never, and made something of a mockery of his 40/1 price.
This time he will be partnered for the first time by the very capable Paul Hanagan, who knows his way around the Thirsk track after landing 23 winners and a further 29 places from his 155 rides here.
Suggested bet: Muatadel each-way in the 15:15 at Thirsk
