Sunday best each-way bet: Outsider no forlorn hope in wide-open Doncaster handicap

The last race of the St Leger Festival looks to be a wide-open handicap, and one of our tipsters has his eye for each-way value on a capable mare who could defy her outsider odds.

17:25 Doncaster: Harrison College - Your Future Your Choice Apprentice Handicap  (6 furlongs)

This apprentice handicap represents a drop in class for International Girl, while she should also be better suited by the drop to her preferred six-furlong trip.

Richard Fahey’s six-year-old was last seen at York in a competitive Class 2 heritage handicap 24 days ago where she ran to a fair enough level, albeit consigned to a mid-division finish.

This race looks better suited to the strengths of this capable mare, who can be a different proposition here under Ethan Tindall, whose seven-pound claim looks very handy for an improving jockey on a proven performer.

International Girl can be expected to play a leading role here and to showcase some of her better form now back in the calmer waters of class 4 handicap company.

Best Bet: International Girl each-way in the 17:25 at Doncaster
