Saturday's ITV tips
10:15 (Lingfield) Hedonista
13:40 (Ascot) Kargese
13:55 (Haydock) Royal Infantry
1415 (Ascot) Martator
1430 (Haydock) Royale Pagaille
1450 (Ascot) Altobelli
1505 (Haydock) Punta Del Este
1532 (Ascot) Jonbon
10:15 (Lingfield) Hedonista
Hedonista has a Tom Marquand booked following a smart 0.75L second in a handicap over the distance New Years Day at Newcastle so will be a leading contender in the Extra Winnings With Betuk Acca Club Handicap.
Haaland ran well ten days ago when a close third tackling this trip at Kempton and rates highly.
Sharp Distunction and Upepo have claims.
13:40 (Ascot) Kargese
This looks to be all about Kargese who travels from Ireland for the Grade 2 Betmgm Mares' Hurdle.
Last year finished runner-up in the G1 Triumph Hurdle and not been seen since landing the G1 Champion Four Year Old Hurdle at Punchestown during May. Expected to have no problem winning this on her return.
Take No Chances could be the one to follow the selection home after managing a good third in a competitive handicap hurdle at Cheltenham.
Casa No Mento and Ooh Betty shouldn't be ignored.
13:55 (Haydock) Royal Infantry
Royal Infantry looks an exciting prospect having made a winning hurdling debut at Chepstow preceding an 8.5L success in a course and distance introductory hurdle last month and has a top chance in the Supreme Trial Rossington Main Novices' Hurdle.
Dedicated Hero holds a consistent record to date following an easy 7.5L victory in a 2m maiden hurdle last month at Kelso and makes for plenty of appeal.
Peacenik was off the mark at the fourth attempt on New Years Day when 0.5L contesting a 2m1f novices hurdle at Exeter and could go well again.
14:15 (Ascot) Martator
The class-dropping Martator is three from three at this venue and could prove capable of getting back to winning ways in the Bet365 Handicap Chase following an excellent third in the G2 Desert Orchid Handicap Chase at Kempton over Christmas.
Martator beat Kotmask convincingly attempting 2m1f at this venue during November however the Gary and Josh Moore trained charge is now better off at the weights, so commands respect following a gutsy success here four weeks ago.
The runner-up that day Scarface must be considered off 3lb better terms, while Flegmatik makes some appeal in a competitive handicap chase.
14:30 (Haydock) Royale Pagaille
Multiple G1 course and distance winning Royale Pagaille followed up by 2L during November taking the G1 Betfair Chase for a second time.
This eleven-year-old has won the past two renewals of this contest to boost an excellent course record and is the top selection for the Peter Marsh Handicap Chase.
The main danger will come from Mr Vango, who enjoyed the stamina test when successful by 1.5L in the 3m5f London National Handicap Chase last month at Sandown.
Trelawne showed plenty of ability last month finishing 10L fourth contesting a 3m premier handicap chase at Ascot. Found success at this venue prior.
Iwilldoit stays very well and enjoys testing going. The previous Welsh Grand National winner was a good third in that Chepstow feature at Christmas, so shouldn't be dismissed.
14:50 (Ascot) Altobelli
Altobelli finished strongly when runner-up in a 2m1/2f handicap hurdle at Doncaster last month.
The Harry Fry trained seven-year-old has been crying out for this step up in trip and the application of first-time cheekpieces also catches the eye ahead of the Betmgm Holloway's Handicap Hurdle.
Doddiethegreat holds some solid hurdle form. He had little chance when hampered badly over the first at Kempton Boxing Day. More than capable off this mark.
Stablemate Bo Zenith produced a good third in a competitive handicap hurdle at Cheltenham after nearly two years off. In the mix if backing it up.
15:05 (Haydock) Punta Del Este
Previous course winner Punta Del Este ran well in November when a good fifth tackling a 2m3f handicap hurdle here. Ticks plenty of boxes in the Sky Bet Cheltenham Non-Runner No Bet Handicap Hurdle.
Kilbarry Hill bids for a four-timer following a 0.75L victory in a 2m7f handicap hurdle at Uttoxeter last month. Can maintain strong form.
Tune In A Box showed plenty of ability over Christmas placing a close second contesting a 3m handicap hurdle at Chepstow.
15:32 (Ascot) Jonbon
The Clarence House Chase should be an exciting clash between Jonbon and Energumene.
Jonbon suffered a shock defeat when second in this event at Cheltenham twelve months ago but arrives following a comprehensive success in the G1 Tingle Creek Chase at Sandown, so is backed to record a ninth G1 triumph.
Energumene returned from nearly two years off to land the G2 Hilly Way Chase at Cork and is treated with the utmost respect as a dual G1 Champion Chase hero.
Edwardstone finished runner-up to the first mentioned on plenty of occasions and looks third best after a respectable weight-carrying performance when third in the G2 Desert Orchid Handicap Chase.
