15.38 Ascot - Dashel Drasher

Pete is keen on the hardy Dashel Drasher in the Betfair Ascot Chase.
Jeremy Scott's consistent nine-year-old won well at Newbury at Christmas time and then was only beaten a short-head at Lingfield last time out.
Rex Dingle gets the ride and here are a couple of reasons why Pete thinks Dashel Drasher is a dashing runner at Ascot.
"This is an Ascot specialist, won three of four races last year and won all three at Ascot. Won this race running superbly last time around and yes, on reappearance didn't look brilliant but then went on to do brilliant in the Fleur Du Lys.
So for me right now Dashel Drasher looks in the right position… Last year's winner, an Ascot specialist, this horse is definitely the play for me."

Other top selections from Ascot

In the 13.15, Gary Moore is in ripe form and his Hecouldbetheone could be aptly named at a decent price. Not out of the top three in any of his last four starts, the five-year-old was a decent 12 lengths winner at Plumpton last time out.
Kim Bailey is another having a resurgence and the veteran trainer has a great chance in the 13.50 with Does He Know. A first at Cheltenham two runs ago is nice form and Bailey knows how to ready a classy individual for this sort of contest.
The 14.25 presents a chance for Harry Fry's four-timer chasing Ask Me Early to do the business. Capable over fences and hurdles, it's not too early to back this one.
In the lucky last at 16.45, Conditional Caolin Quinn takes off a hefty seven pounds from Missed Vacation's load in the bumper. The five-year-old finished second at Uttoxeter on debut and can go one better.
