Charlie Appleby's Coroebus won the 2000 Guineas in style and now Godolphin are targeting the St James's Palace Stakes at Royal Ascot on Tuesday, June 14.

It's all systems go for Charlie Appleby as he prepares to saddle 2000 Guineas champ Coroebus in Tuesday's St James's Palace Stakes at Royal Ascot.
The Dubawi colt will be a damned sight shorter for his Ascot assignment than when going off at 5/1 for the Classic at Newmarket in April.
Coroebus outran his fancied stablemate Native Trail at HQ, beating the Godolphin companion by a game three-quarters of a length. James Doyle did a good job of steering Coroebus who shaped like a true top level performer.
That win set aside any doubts about Coroebus' ability and now he heads a field of 14 heading for the one mile test on Tuesday, June 14 in Berkshire.

It will be Coroebus' first trip out of East Anglia and his first go round a bend, having been raced exclusively at Newmarket but Appleby is content for his charge to have a go at one of the most exclusive meetings in world racing.

"Royal Ascot is the Olympics of the equestrian field in Europe and I'm very much looking forward to it," said Appleby in a video released by Godolphin.
"Coroebus is our star horse on day one and it was always the plan to come here straight from the Guineas.
"His work has been more than pleasing us of late and he's got his final piece of work to do on Saturday then all being well we'll be there on Tuesday and he'll be the horse they've all got to beat.
"Native Trail came out and won the Irish Guineas and won it well, it's rock-solid form and as it stands it looks another good Guineas this year."
Appleby's Ascot input is not limited to Coroebus however with the leader of the boys in blue also saddling another of Dubawi's offspring in the King's Stand Stakes. Lazuli takes on the five furlong sprint having had a decent warm up at Meydan over the same distance where he won by a comfortable one and half lengths in the UAE.
He also sends Man Of Promise to the Kings's Stand, Star Safari to the Wolferton and Bandinelli to the Copper Horse Handicap on the first day as Godolphin looks to cement its resurgence.
