Wednesday’s turf racing concludes with the evening meeting at Ripon, where Tipstrr’s pundits have hopefully found some overpriced value for us in the very last race of the night.

20:40 Ripon: We're Back For Ladies Day Tomorrow Handicap (5 furlongs)

The top three in the market are separated by fewer than two betting points, with any from Golden Gal, Hot Scoop and Canaria Prince likely to emerge as the starting favourite.

Of those, Hot Scoop looks the most favoured by the handicapper, as he is now below his last winning mark, plus he can benefit from the three-pound claim of jockey Laura Pearson.
Another racing off a dangerous mark is the less well supported James Watt, who kicked off his career with two straight wins as a juvenile in 2018.
Those successes came at Brighton and Windsor, since when he is also a two-time course and distance winner at Ripon, albeit his last visit to the winners' enclosure came a dozen races ago.

This Paul Midgley-trained seven-year-old has been through the mill somewhat of late, including the need of wind surgery following a troubled run on season debut at Southwell in February.

James Watt's recovery has been gradual, and last time out at Thirsk 12 days ago, he just ran out of steam towards the line after making progress approaching the furlong pole, but nevertheless his fifth place saw him finish much closer to the winner than to the sixth-placed rival immediately behind him.

Graham Lee has become his regular rider over the last couple of seasons, and he takes the reins again here, boasting a 35% place record in his 114 rides at Ripon over the last five years.

Anyone looking for him to improve that record here might want to look for a bookmaker offering an extra place to enhance those each-way prospects.

Suggested bet: James Watt in the 20:40 at Ripon
