Pontefract nap April 5: Love to take Gold in Pontecarlo

Flat action returns to Pontefract on Tuesday, April 5 and Planet Sport tipster Jonathan Doidge has turned his attentions to the West Yorkshire track for his selection.
The Yorkshire Wonder Horse Search Is On Handicap (14:40) looks an open heat on paper, with a double-figure field on forecast soft ground.
The 10-furlong trip will feel a bit further given those conditions, plus the stiff nature of the track.
That should bring the proven 1m4f stamina of the Mark and Charlie Johnston-trained Love Is Golden into play.
Not that we'd worry about whether a Johnston horse has had a prior run or not, we know all about the team's abilities to produce first-time winners.
However, another bonus for us here is a very encouraging return at Doncaster last week (1m2f, good), when he was a two-length second to Matchless.
I think he'll come on a bit for that, he has won on soft ground, so that's not going to inconvenience him, and we'll take him to go one better this time.
