has not enjoyed the best of luck this season, and an upturn in fortunes could well put him on track to replicate his only previous visit to the winner's circle at Nottingham in May last year.
He clearly needed his first run this season at Redcar in June, although he only finished a couple of lengths off the winner off a mark of 60, having understandably faded late on.
On his second start at Doncaster, he was denied a clear run which caused him to lose his challenging position, but he rallied and kept on gamely to finish within half a length of pinching third place.

For his latest run, which was over a shorter seven-furlong trip on this track, he finished a never-nearer eighth of 14, but that does tell the full story. After being badly hampered at the stalls, was continually impeded in the first half-mile and just couldn't stride out, before again staying on well in the final stages.
A return to a full mile is just what he needs (having won over a mile last year) and racing off just two pounds higher gives him every chance at the weights.
The services of top jockey David Allan can only aid his chances, and although he has dropped from tasty 16/1 odds, he looks like a decent prospect at any double-digit price.
