Monday Catterick racing top tip: Thereisnodoubt to lead from the front

Tipstrr racing expert Steve Jones kicks off the week by sharing his best value bet from Monday's meeting at Catterick, where he thinks Thereisnodoubt should give a good account of himself.

Early favourite Lock's Corner hasn't won in this sphere since 2019 and his last four wins (all over fences) have been achieved on flatter tracks, so there looks to be some potential value elsewhere in the market.

A likely candidate is Lucinda Russell's Thereisnodoubt, who has been running in stronger races than this and should be primed for a big performance on this second run back from his last break.
Since arriving from Ireland early this year, this nine-year-old has had just five outings and all of them have been in higher-graded handicaps than today's.

His stable debut came at Wetherby where he was beaten just a neck by No Risk Des Flos, who has since gone chasing, winning a Class 3 handicap in that sphere just last week.

That form looks strong in the context of today's lower graded contest and it was run under a very similar combination of conditions, except for the fact that Wetherby is not as undulating as today's track at Catterick.

However, his second run for these new connections was run over Carlisle's undulating track, where he finished a close-up second of five behind West To The Bridge, who went on to win his next two starts, both Class 3 handicaps.

Strangely, following those first two very encouraging runs, Thereisnodoubt was dropped back in trip to just two miles for his next two outings, a move that failed to pay off and, following a 225-day break, he resumed action back over his preferred distance at Wetherby a couple of weeks ago.

He probably needed the run that day, but still caught the eye when coming from last place off the home bend to finish a never-nearer fifth of twelve in a very competitive handicap, beaten by four mounts who are all now rated higher than any of today's rivals.

His regular rider Derek Fox, who is here for just this one ride, will surely have him closer to the pace this time, especially as his three wins in Ireland all came after racing prominently throughout, making a return to those tactics the most likely way hit the front on the run-in.

As a next best option, We'll Go Again would have gone into a few notebooks as he came from well off the pace to finish a never-nearer third of ten at Market Rasen earlier this month, an encouraging effort after being hampered in the early stages.
