Haydock each-way racing-tip: Lady Excalibur shaping up to defy outsider price

Haydock
Haydock’s Wednesday afternoon meeting kicks off with an open-looking handicap, and RR Portfolio is just one of Tipstrr’s each-way specialists to like the look of one of the outsiders.
14:40 Haydock: Yale Fillies' Handicap (1 mile 3 furlongs 140 yards)
The bookies appear to have this down as a two-horse race between market leaders Typical Woman and Sweet Fantasy, and there's no disputing the quality of both, with the former looking very much the one to beat under William Buick.
They're both hovering around the 3/1 mark at the time of writing, which has tempted Tipstrr's each-way punters to look for better value lower down the betting.
Bottom weight Spring Glow might run better than her recent form suggests as she has Tom Marquand to guide her through her first run in a hood, but it is the lightly-raced Lady Excalibur who has garnered most support, and with some major bookies paying out on four places she might just offer the best each-way value.
Two wins and a runner-up spot in three National Hunt bumpers during 2021 promised more than she delivered in four outings last year, although she did perform well to finish runner-up over a similar distance at Ffos Las last August.
Her 150/1 price highlighted how much she was out of her depth in the Legacy Cup Stakes at Newbury last September, which was her last outing before being given a nine-month break.
She now returns in lesser company, and while there are obviously plenty of unknown variables in play here after such an extended lay-off, she might be ready to spring a surprise at a good price on her handicap debut.
Suggested bet: Lady Excalibur each-way in the 14:40 at Haydock
