Harry Cobden’s Planet Sport Bet blog: Irish Hill tops the bill in strong book of rides at Kempton

After a busy week at the Cheltenham Festival, Planet Sport ambassador Harry Cobden is back at Kempton with six rides on Saturday, March 16. How does he fancy his chances?

It was obviously brilliant to get a winner at the Cheltenham Festival on Thursday with Monmiral, I was a tad surprised but as said prior to the race, he is a very talented horse and performed fantastically.

The blinkers obviously worked wonders and he stayed the trip really well. He was back over hurdles and jumped brilliantly, I couldn’t be prouder of him.

13:35 (Kempton) Beau Balko

I kick off the day with Beau Balko in what looks a fairly competitive little handicap chase.

He won really well last time out round Musselburgh, and he is a very talented horse. I am very much looking forward to getting back on him.

14:10 (Kempton) Irish Hill

Irish Hill is my next ride, who definitely has a decent chance. He’s probably been a little bit disappointing this season, but he’s coming into this off of a nice enough mark.

He’s in really good form at home as of late, and I would say that he would be one of my better chances, on what looks a strong book of rides.

14:45 (Kempton) Outlaw Peter

Outlaw Peter looks to have a huge chance, on his best form. He is very consistent and always runs his race, as shown round course and distance on Boxing Day, where he was a good second.

As said, we know he likes the track and he acts well round there. The ground shouldn’t be an issue, He’s not the best handicapped but if he runs his race he won’t be far away.

15:55 (Kempton) Java Point

I then ride Java Point who I don’t know a great deal about. He got the job done well last time, so I am hoping for more of the same at Kempton.

From what I have seen, he looks a very straightforward horse. I’ve only ever ridden one horse of Henry Oliver’s so I am delighted to pick up the ride.

16:30 (Kempton) Il Pino

I’m looking forward to getting back on Il Pino in the Novice Hurdle. He’s a big raw sort of shell of a horse, Paul has given him loads of time from his first run.

He’s matured a lot in his time off, and we are impressed with him. He is a horse with lots of ability and hopefully he’ll go very close.

17:05 (Kempton) Saxon Star

To close off my day at Kempton I have Saxon Star in the bumper. She’s obviously got a very nice weight for this. She looks a very nice filly, especially when running a decent race at Musselburgh last time finishing third.

I am delighted to pick up this ride for Brian Ellison, and hopefully if she runs her race, I will be finishing the day off on a high.
