Grand National Festival 2022: Friday's Mildmay Novices' Chase tips - Ahoy Senor to sail away with it

Another Grade 1 staying test at Aintree on Friday March 8 and Planet Sport have top picks for the Mildmay Chase. Ahoy Senor can say adios to the rest at a price.

Click on Planet Sport's Live Race Centre and you'll find all the up to date information from Aintree on Friday, April 8.

Here's a quick list of Planet Sport's picks for the Mildmay Chase.

L'Homme Presse

Ahoy Senor

14.55 Aintree - L'Homme Presse

Planet Sport tipster Jonathan Doidge is sticking with the classy Cheltenham winner L'Homme Presse of the Venetia Williams yard in the Betway Mildmay Novices' Chase.

The Brown Advisory victory speaks for itself and here is a snippet of why Jonathan thinks L'Homme Presse is the man,

"Just four go to post but what a quartet. Fury Road is the rank outsider for Gordon Elliott but is a pretty good horse in his own right. The other trio of Bravemansgame, L'Homme Presse and Ahoy Senor, who has been beaten by both L'Homme Presse and Bravemansgame in Grade 1s this season."

"Bravemansgame of course winning the Kauto Star at Kempton over Christmas and L'Homme Presse winning the Brown Advisory at Cheltenham last month. I do like the look of him, I backed him last time. I'm not going to desert him this time."

14.55 Aintree - Ahoy Senor

Pete Farries, meanwhile, is on the hunt for value and he retains a belief in Ahoy Senor, who won the Ladbrokes John Francome Novices' Chase nicely at Newbury in November.
Derek Fox gets the leg up for Lucinda Russell and here are a couple of reasons why Pete reckons Ahoy Senor will sail away with it.
"For me it's going to be Ahoy Senor to get the win. Was really good at Aintree to win the Sefton last year. Thought that was a very strong performance, set Ahoy Senor up for a very decent 12 months."
"Yes was beaten by three and change, by L'Homme Presse over at Cheltenham but there was a silly mistake in there, I don't know that Ahoy Senor with the noises coming out of the yard would make a mistake like that again."
