Friday’s ITV racing tips: Best bets for day four of Royal Ascot
It’s day four of Royal Ascot and Planet Sport aren’t flagging on Friday, June 17. The weather is hotting up and so are our picks from the regal meeting.
Click on Planet Sport's Live Race Centre for a one-stop-shop of your racing information needs, including race cards.
14.30 Ascot - Mawj
A properly competitive Albany Stakes for two-year-old fillies with not much form is a tricky betting heat.
15.05 Ascot - Go Bears Go
Good ground at Haydock wasn't up his strasse and the arid ground of scorching Ascot can have Go Bears Go ready to pounce in the Commonwealth Cup.
15.40 Ascot - Mashhoor
Another hot contest can go the way of Johnny Murtagh's Mashhoor.
The four-year-old Kingman gelding was a facile winner of a good handicap at the Curragh in the run up to the Duke Of Edinburgh Stakes.
Representing decent value, Johnny Murtagh has done it all as a jockey and will know how to prep one for this sort of test.
16.20 Ascot - Mangoustine
Obviously Inspiral looks like she'll take some stopping in the Coronation Stakes but we'll go with French 1000 Guineas winner Mangoustine as a bit of value.
Mangoustine for France! 🇫🇷

Gerald Mosse and Mikel Delzangles team up with the Dark Angel filly to hold off British raider Cachet in a thrilling Poule d'Essai des Pouliches.

17.00 Ascot - Crenelle
Bearing the famous pink and green Juddmonte silks carried by the likes of Frankel and Enable, Crenelle is a typically well-bred Kingman filly for John and Thady Gosden.
Crenelle enjoyed her maiden one mile win at Newmarket much more than a subsequent step up to one mile and two furlongs back at HQ.
Named after the shooting spaces atop castles, Crenelle can hit the target in the Sandringham Stakes under Frankie Dettori, whose nous can pay off in the big runner field.
17.35 Ascot - Changingoftheguard
A fifth in the Epsom Derby is the clear form line for Changingoftheguard going into the King Edward VII Stakes.
The drop down to Group 2 company and a far less tense atmosphere than at Epsom should suit Aidan O'Brien's Galileo colt.
18.10 Ascot - Ruthin
Irad Ortiz Jr has clearly taken a while to adapt to Ascot and Ruthin can give him the chance to regain some pride for his US handler in the Palace Of Holyroodhouse Stakes.
